Coal mine-specific nitrogen generators are mainly divided into three types: underground mobile, ground mobile, and fixed models. They generally require explosion-proof customization and are primarily used for fire prevention and extinguishing, suppressing gas explosions, and gas dilution during coal or mine extraction processes.

Working Principle of Coal Mine-specific Nitrogen Generator

The coal mine-specific nitrogen generator uses high-quality carbon molecular sieve as the adsorbent and operates on the pressure swing adsorption principle to obtain nitrogen.

Under certain pressure, it leverages the difference in the adsorption capacity of oxygen and nitrogen on the surface of the carbon molecular sieve—specifically, the carbon molecular sieve adsorbs oxygen much more rapidly than nitrogen. Through programmable control of pneumatic valves for opening and closing, towers A and B alternate cycles of pressurized adsorption and depressurized desorption, achieving oxygen-nitrogen separation and producing nitrogen of the required purity. Since the oxygen adsorption capacity of the carbon molecular sieve varies significantly with pressure, reducing the pressure allows desorption of the adsorbed oxygen molecules, enabling the regeneration of the carbon molecular sieve for repeated use. The two-tower process involves one tower adsorbing to produce nitrogen while the other desorbs and regenerates, alternating cycles to continuously generate high-quality nitrogen.
